Ebenezer United Methodist Church has been a place where people are inspired by God’s love, invited into God’s community, and involved in God’s mission. The Ebenezer United Methodist Church Endowment Program is an opportunity to ensure that this legacy continues, not just for us, but for those we may never meet.

We believe God is still calling Ebenezer forward. Children not yet born will one day learn to pray here. Families not yet connected will one day find belonging here. Neighbors not yet reached will one day experience Christ’s love through this church.

The Endowment exists to sustain and strengthen that future.

By investing gifts rather than spending them all at once, the Endowment creates ongoing support for ministry by providing stability in uncertain seasons, courage to launch new ministries, and flexibility to respond when God opens new doors.

This is how we are preparing for the future God is already preparing for us.

The Endowment allows Ebenezer to:

  • Sustain the ministries that inspire faith and nurture discipleship
  • Strengthen outreach that invites others into God’s community
  • Support mission efforts that involve us in God’s transforming work
  • Care for our facilities so they remain tools for ministry
  • Launch new initiatives as God leads us into the future

The Ebenezer United Methodist Church Endowment Program gives us the freedom not only to maintain what exists but to imagine what could be.

A Legacy Already in the Making

The Ebenezer Endowment began with a $25,000 gift that established our General Endowment Fund. Managed through the Holston Foundation, that fund has grown to more than $70,000.

The Endowment Program has already helped our church navigate challenges by supporting us through the financial strain of the COVID pandemic. This is a visible reminder that faithful generosity today becomes strength for tomorrow.

Your Faith and Your Legacy

An endowment gift is more than a financial contribution. It is a testimony.

It says, “I believe God’s work here must continue.” It says, “I trust the future of this church to God.” It says, “May lives be changed long after mine.”

Gifts may be made now, given over time through ongoing contributions, or included in estate plans. Contributions to the endowment can support the General Endowment Fund or even be used to reflect a passion for missions, youth, worship, or other areas of ministry.

Every gift, large or small, becomes part of a shared story that stretches beyond one lifetime.

The Ebenezer Endowment is managed through the Holston Foundation, who provides professional oversight, accountability, and long-term investment care.

The principal remains intact, while annual earnings strengthen the ministry and ensure that each gift continues blessing the church year after year.

All conversations are handled with care, discretion, and gratitude.

Investing in the Future

Over the last 140 years, the people of Ebenezer UMC have invested their prayers, gifts, talents, and financial gifts, so that we could be inspired by God’s love, invited into God’s community, and involved in God’s mission.

Now it is our turn. Will we plant seeds that future generations will thank God for?
